Panasonic Connect Europe has introduced an auto framing feature for its PTZ cameras, aiming to improve video production quality and efficiency.
The feature will be available as a paid plug-in for the Media Production Suite software platform starting in Q2 of 2025, with a limited version provided for free for the AW-UE160W/K PTZ camera through firmware and software updates beginning in Q1 of 2025.
Advanced Auto Framing Plug-in for Media Production Suite
The paid Advanced Auto Framing plug-in will enhance Panasonic PTZ cameras, such as the AW-UE160W/K, AW-UE150W/K, AW-UE100W/K, and AW-UE80W/K. It will use technologies like auto tracking, image recognition, and advanced framing to improve camera accuracy and functionality. Multi-camera setups will be supported, allowing for more accurate subject detection and improved operation. Additionally, facial recognition technology will be integrated to optimize framing for selected individuals.
Free Auto Framing Update for AW-UE160W/K
The auto framing feature will be provided for free via firmware and Media Production Suite updates for the AW-UE160W/K model. The camera’s internal processor will handle subject detection, while the Media Production Suite will manage framing commands. This feature will be available on any PC that meets the system’s operating requirements.
Real-time Professional Auto Framing
The Advanced Auto Framing plug-in will offer real-time professional framing capabilities using presets for accuracy and efficiency. Framing presets can include multi-subject group shots, with advanced body detection ensuring consistent headroom for subjects. This tool is designed to simplify the production of high-quality video content.
User-friendly Interface and Multi-camera Management
The plug-in’s interface is consistent with the Media Production Suite’s design, offering intuitive setup and control through a user-friendly panel. A multi-camera display will allow operators to manage several PTZ cameras from a single screen, streamlining multi-camera shoots in situations with limited staffing.
Compatibility with Remote Camera Controllers
The auto framing feature will be compatible with Panasonic’s AW-RP150GJ and AW-RP60GJ remote camera controllers, allowing fine adjustments to the camera angle during auto framing. Camera selection will also synchronize with auto framing, simplifying transitions between automatic and manual operations.
