Matthews Studio Equipment has launched the Patriot Wrench, a versatile tool designed to improve efficiency on set.
This innovative wrench includes the seven most common industry-specific cutouts, catering to standard grip and lighting equipment.
Collaboration with Industry Professional
The Patriot Wrench was developed in collaboration with Aaron Hammel, a Local 80 Operator and owner of Patriot Camera Cars. This single tool solution addresses most cranking, tightening, and wrenching needs, eliminating the necessity for bulky multi-tool accessories or multiple wrenches.
Durable and Lightweight Design
Constructed from 6061-T6 Aluminum and finished with a Type III Hardcoat Anodizing, the Patriot Wrench is both lightweight and durable. It is a practical addition to any grip’s toolkit.

The Patriot Wrench includes a low-profile wingnut wrench, four hex nut cutouts (7/8” or 22mm, 9/16” or 14mm, 1/2” or 12mm, and 3/8” or 9mm), and two square nut cutouts for pipe clamps (5/16” or 8mm, and 1/2″ or 12mm). Additionally, a lanyard hole allows for secure attachment to a wrist, body, or tool belt, ensuring the wrench is always within reach.
