Features of PRIMA Platform

PRIMA – the Platform for Realtime Integrated Media Applications – provides a comprehensive suite of services tailored to enterprise needs in areas such as playout, workflow, and control. The platform offers simple and immediate management of all functionalities while adhering to the highest industry standards for content security. PRIMA is scalable and flexible, suitable for both on-premise and cloud implementations, and includes provisions for full failover, redundancy, and disaster recovery architectures.

Latest Iteration of Playout System

Pebble will also demonstrate the latest version of its playout system, designed to provide a consistent approach across various configurations. This includes best-of-breed component architectures or all-in-one channel engines; SDI, ST2110, and NDI; on-premise, multi-site, cloud, and hybrid environments. As broadcasters transition between technologies, this open flexibility is essential for ensuring continuity.

Focus on Security and Resilience

Neil Maycock, Chief Commercial Officer at Pebble, highlighted the shift in industry conversations towards security, high resilience, and protection from cyber threats. Pebble is integrating high levels of security into its products to stay ahead of key threats to networked software technologies.

Collaboration with NVIDIA

Earlier this year, Pebble announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to integrate PRIMA with the NVIDIA Holoscan for Media initiative. The platform utilizes industry standards like SMPTE ST2110, AMWA NMOS, RIST, SRT, and NDI, aiming to provide flexible media environments while minimizing resource usage on a shared compute platform. PRIMA’s Kubernetes architecture makes it well-suited for this purpose.

IBC2024 as a Platform for Future Development

Maycock expressed enthusiasm for IBC2024, noting that the event is an ideal venue for the global media technology industry to share ideas about the future. The Pebble team looks forward to exploring new opportunities and gaining fresh insights to guide their ongoing development.
