Penny Westlake, Interra Systems: New Broadcast Solutions from Vega, Baton, and Orion for QC and Real-Time Monitoring

TFT1957 Interviews Penny Westlake, Director Europe at Interra Systems, at IBC2024

TFT1957 Interviews Penny Westlake, Director Europe at Interra Systems, at IBC2024.

– What new products is your company showcasing at IBC 2024?

Today at IBC, we are presenting three main product groups.

First, we have our Vega media analyzers, which are intended for lab and in-depth use, typically for codec analysis and similar tasks.

We are also showcasing Baton, our flagship product, which is file-based QC (Quality Control) and is the most comprehensive solution on the market.

Additionally, we are presenting our Orion family of products. Orion is designed for real-time monitoring, including support for SMPTE 2110 standards. We have Orion for transport stream monitoring and Orion OTT for streaming service monitoring.

– What do you think about the future trends in the broadcast and Pro AV industry?

I think we’ll see an increasing use of more standardized IT infrastructure, which presents options that weren’t available in the past. AI is also coming in a big way, but hopefully, it will be applied in specific use-case scenarios rather than in general. Additionally, we’re seeing many new companies entering the industry with fresh ideas, which is quite interesting.

– Thanks a lot for the interview!
