TFT1957 is thrilled to have Philip on the team!

TFT1957: Now to some company news. This is the last time that we will be reporting on behalf of TKT1957. As of today, our brand is transitioning to a whole new era. We are taking a whole new step as Television and Film Technology (TFT) 1957. I’m here to proudly announce that today, Philip Grossman has been made our Editor-in-Chief. Over the last six to twelve months, our organization has been consistently transitioning to a Western appearance, and thankfully, the majority of our operations are now U.S.-based. As a result, we have moved our offices from Eastern Europe to the Western Hemisphere, with our main office now located in Tampa, Florida, and our second office in Atlanta, Georgia.

Philip, as this is such a big achievement, as our new Editor-in-Chief, and as someone who has had the opportunity to work with some of the largest names in the industry, would you mind sharing your vision moving forward for our organization? Also, what are some of the entities you have had the opportunity to work with? From what we know, there isn’t a single media company in the broadcast game that stands out as a bigger industry leader than you as an Editor-in-Chief.

Philip: Well, thank you. I’m happy to be part of the team and to step into this role. My brief history is that I entered the film and television industry in an unusual way. I’ve always been a photographer and cinematographer since I was a kid, and then through college. But I entered through the consulting practice world, starting at Ernst & Young within their Media and Entertainment division, focusing on television and film studios. I really enjoyed the technology side of the industry. I then moved to Capgemini, another global leader in consulting, and eventually made my way into the production world at The Weather Channel. I spent many years there, really honing my understanding and skills around what it takes to broadcast 24/7, 365 days a year.

A lot of stations joke about having small maintenance windows, but The Weather Channel had no maintenance windows because we were on 24/7. After that, I spent the last decade or so at Imagine Communications, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of broadcast and television technologies. I’ve had the opportunity to work with major companies across the world, from ABC and Disney to ESPN, Fox, Sky Italia, Sky UK, Seven in Australia, Nine in Australia, and QVC in Japan.
