Pixellot Partners with German Basketball Associations for Technological Advancement

Pixellot has formed strategic alliances with two major basketball organizations in Germany, the Baden-Württemberg Basketball Association (BBW) and the Westdeutscher Basketball Association (Basketball WBV), aiming to advance sports broadcasting and promote youth sports.

These partnerships are a key achievement in Pixellot’s goal to make sports broadcasting widely available and to support the growth of youth sports in Germany.

Implementing AI Technology in Basketball Venues

Under these agreements, Pixellot will deploy its latest AI-powered cameras across several basketball venues. This move aims to provide extensive coverage of team selections, tournaments, competitions, and initiatives for youth development. The introduction of this technology is expected to simplify production processes and enhance viewers’ experiences with features such as automated highlight creation and personal video clips. This increased exposure is anticipated to attract more sponsors, including notable names like Spalding, Molten, Puma, basketballdirekt, and Athletic Sport Sponsoring.

Community Engagement and Equal Opportunities

BBW and WBV are committed to using basketball for social development and inclusion. They focus on promoting girls’ basketball and providing equal opportunities for all players. Pixellot’s technology will enable coaches to access professional-level analytics to improve team and player performances. Additionally, the systems will be used by the federations to enhance certification processes and improve refereeing quality.

Rapid Growth in Membership and Focus on Women’s Basketball

Basketball WBV, which oversees more than 400 clubs with a membership exceeding 50,000 people, of which 32,000 are youths, has seen an annual growth rate of 20%. This growth underscores the organization’s commitment to promoting youth and women’s basketball.

Nadeesh Kattur, VP of Youth and Youth Competitive Sports at WBV, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Pixellot, highlighting the potential to improve coaching, development programs, and the visibility of youth and women’s basketball.

Broad Impact in Baden-Württemberg

The Basketball Association of Baden-Württemberg (BBW) supports around 32,000 players across 2,100 teams. Thomas Adelt, the Competitive Sports Coordinator and All State Men’s Coach at BW, noted that Pixellot’s technology would transform community engagement by providing unprecedented access to live and recorded matches. He expressed hope that the adoption of this technology would spread throughout Germany.

Alon Werber, CEO of Pixellot, praised Germany’s enthusiasm for basketball, especially following a world championship win. He stated that the partnerships with BBW and WBV demonstrate Pixellot’s commitment to enhancing the sports experience and supporting basketball development across the country.

Setting New Standards for Sports Innovation

By adopting Pixellot’s AI solutions, BBW and WBV are establishing new benchmarks for sports innovation, youth development, and community engagement in Germany. These collaborations highlight Pixellot’s pivotal role in making youth basketball coverage more affordable, accessible, and engaging for leagues and federations at all levels.
