NAB New York, sees the US launch of Media Gateway, latest addition to the broadcast management system which today powers over 19,000 TV and branding channels in more than 120 countries.
“Our industry-proven product range gives TV channel owners the freedom to select the features they need from a wide choice of solutions, software and cloud-based services,” says Van Duke, US Director of Operations. “From a single channel running on AirBox Neo-20 up to a multi-language global network, we support any scale of operation and any desired level of automation.
Media Gateway allows the entire process of playout routing and decoding to be handled in software. It eliminates the capital cost, rack space, maintenance charges and power needed to operate hardware routers, codecs and related devices. Media Gateway can be installed on site or in the cloud. Integral software codecs allow signals to be converted between SDI, NDI, SRT, UDP and RTP. Video and audio content can be sourced directly from a desktop screen and delivered as live feeds.
Capture Suite, which made its first US trade fair appearance at the April 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas, allows multiple incoming content feeds to be ingested rapidly and without stress. Input selection, ingest presets, file-naming, assignments and auto-transfer can also be performed quickly and easily. An integral multiviewer provides the safeguards of automated black-frame and frozen-frame alarms. Content can be edited before the ingest process completes, with obvious advantages for time-critical news channels. MXF and TS files are available for immediate playout via AirBox Neo-20 automation, again without having to wait for the ingest process to complete. Capture Suite includes audio loudness monitoring as well as manual, scheduled and compliance ingest modes with automated input switching.
Van Duke: “We will also be showing the latest version of our established Multi Playout Manager. This now allows multiple AirBox Neo-20 channels to be operated via a web interface from any network-connected location. New enhancements include a future-playlist editor, support for custom metadata from AirBox Neo-20, plus a library module for fast access to MAM. Detailed enhancements include a preview display for controlling AirBox Neo-20 and a new proxy generator with thumbnails creation. AirBox Neo-20, our latest generation server-based television channel branding and playout system, also offers new features including extended live input capabilities and a browser-based multiviewer with lost-signal and frozen-signal alarms.”
