Plex, the largest independent ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) and streaming media platform, has announced a new partnership with A+E Networks EMEA, a joint venture between Hearst and Sky in the UK.

This collaboration will bring five new free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels to Plex users in the UK.

New Channels and Content

The new channels include Inside Crime, History Hunters, World War TV, Mystery TV, and Deal Masters. These channels will feature a variety of popular shows and series from both the UK and the U.S., focusing on genres such as history, true crime, mystery, and world war stories.

Plex aims to be a leading destination for users seeking streaming content, combining free ad-supported TV with AVOD services. The platform currently reaches more than 22 million monthly active users globally and offers the most widely available ad-supported video-on-demand and live TV services in over 180 countries.

Plex has become a prominent player in the FAST and AVOD markets, boasting the largest FAST channel lineup worldwide, with over 800 free channels available in the U.S. alone. The partnership with A+E Networks EMEA enhances Plex’s content offerings in the UK, furthering its strategy of expanding its global reach.

Existing Partnerships

Plex has been offering A+E Networks EMEA content in the United States since 2020. Other content partners include Lionsgate, New Regency, Banijay Rights, Fremantle Trinity Creative, Kaleidoscope Films, and Signature Entertainment.
