Pliant Technologies Announces CrewWare 2.0 Update at 2024 NAB Show

Pliant Technologies is set to unveil CrewWare 2.0, the most significant upgrade to their software since releasing CrewCom in 2017.

Designed specifically for constructing, controlling, and monitoring CrewCom systems, CrewWare has been a critical tool in Pliant’s arsenal.

Software Enhancements

The update brings substantial enhancements in system setup, control, and monitoring capabilities. It introduces compatibility across multiple platforms, including both Mac and PC, supports multiple clients and systems simultaneously, and offers significant graphical user interface (GUI) improvements. These changes make the software more user-friendly and allow for global access to a CrewCom system through any standard web browser.

Global Sales Vice President’s Perspective

Gary Rosen, the Vice President of Global Sales at Pliant Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the update. He highlighted that CrewWare 2.0 is designed to meet the modern demands of users by enhancing accessibility and functionality, while maintaining the software’s core simplicity and user-friendliness. Rosen emphasized the software’s enhanced capacity for graphical-based planning and system implementation, regardless of the system’s complexity.

Key Features of CrewWare 2.0

The update introduces a server and browser-based interface, ensuring compatibility with widely-used browsers and operating systems like Mac and Windows PC. It also features multi-client support, enabling numerous users on the same network to concurrently access the system. The multi-system support allows individual users to manage multiple systems through a new server-based workflow, facilitating easy monitoring and control over several systems simultaneously.

GUI Enhancements

The new version offers a refreshed look while retaining the intuitive interface of the previous version. It includes support for multiple browser windows, smart window resizing, a new flip card-based view for radio packs, drag-and-drop device setup, and improved navigation, making the system more intuitive and easier to use.
