Prime Vision Studio Expands with Ikegami UHK-X700 4K Cameras

Prime Vision Studio, marking its 21st year in the industry, is enhancing its production capabilities with the acquisition of Ikegami UHK-X700 4K studio/EFP cameras.

With a rich history in system design and operational expertise, the studio has been at the forefront of delivering high-quality studio and on-location event coverage.

Meeting the Demand for 4K-UHD HDR

According to Mr. Mansoor Meghani, Managing Director of Prime Vision Studio, there’s a growing need for 4K-UHD HDR production capabilities. This demand is driven by the desire for content that remains commercially viable over time, despite the current trend of HD SDR broadcasts. The UHK-X700 cameras were selected for their versatility, exceptional signal quality, and durability, making them suitable for both studio and outdoor use. Prime Vision Studio was also impressed by the support provided by Ikegami Middle East. The studio has added eight of these cameras to its rental fleet, available for various hire options or as part of a full production management package.

Ikegami’s Support and Confidence

Abdul Ghani, the General Manager of Ikegami Middle East, expressed confidence in Prime Vision Studio’s ability to utilize the UHK-X700 cameras effectively. He highlighted the studio’s esteemed reputation and its wide-ranging customer base both within the UAE and internationally.

Technical Advancements of the UHK-X700

The UHK-X700, a recent addition to Ikegami’s Unicam XE 4K series, is designed for both studio and outdoor applications. It features three 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors with a global shutter, eliminating rolling-shutter distortion and flash-banding artifacts. The camera supports full HDR/SDR, offers a choice between BT.709 and BT.2020 color spaces, and can shoot high frame rates for capturing fast action. When paired with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station, it supports long cable runs up to 3 km, simultaneous HD SDR and UHD HDR output, and provides a 12G-SDI feed for 4K-UHD video directly from the camera. Weighing just 5 kg and equipped with a B4 lens mount, the UHK-X700 promises exceptional performance and flexibility for a wide range of filming projects.
