Hollyland, a company specializing in wireless video transmission solutions and wireless microphone systems, has launched the second product in its Pyro series, the Pyro S.
The Pyro series includes the Pyro H, Pyro S, and Pyro 7 models.
ADH Technology
For the Pyro series, Hollyland has developed its own Auto Dual-band frequency Hopping (ADH) wireless technology, operating at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. This technology allows the Pyro S and Pyro H models to switch between frequencies as needed. If there is interference on one channel, the device will switch to another. Hollyland claims that this ensures efficient signal transmission and minimal latency for real-time footage monitoring. The system can deliver stable wireless video to four independent monitors simultaneously and supports 4K/30fps video transmission at distances of up to 400 meters (1300 feet) with broadcast mode disabled.
Smooth Mode and HD Mode
Users can select the mode that best suits their needs: Smooth mode for smooth transmission with priority on real-time feedback, or HD mode for higher image quality at a stable bitrate. Smooth mode adjusts the bitrate continuously to maintain a latency of 50ms for long-distance transmission, while HD mode provides a stable bitrate of 8-12 Mbps at a range of up to 400 meters (1300 feet) in line-of-sight conditions.
Connectivity Options: HDMI, SDI, and Loopout
The Pyro series supports USB Video Class (UVC) and Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP). Here are the connectivity differences among the models:
- Pyro H: Features HDMI Input/Output and Loopout. Users can connect a camera and transmitter, transmit signals to receivers, and simultaneously monitor the view through the loopout port.
- Pyro S: Features HDMI and SDI Input/Output.
- Pyro 7: Features HDMI and SDI Input/Output and Loopout. Users can choose the best connection option as needed.
Lightweight and Portable Design
The Pyro devices have a lightweight shell made from aerospace-grade magnesium-aluminum alloy. Both the Pyro H and Pyro S models come with color LCD control displays on both the transmitter and receiver, providing an intuitive user interface and quick access to settings. The Pyro 7 system will include a built-in 7-inch monitor, while the Pyro S and Pyro H display video only on external monitors.
Price and Availability
The Pyro H is currently available for $479. The Pyro S will be released globally today, May 22nd, priced at $699.
