Radio RDS Lisbon Chooses AEQ Technology for Main Studio Broadcast Upgrade

Radio RDS, a versatile Portuguese radio station based in Lisbon, has recently undergone a significant technical upgrade.

This renovation is marked by the introduction of the AEQ Forum Split digital console in their main broadcast studio. The decision for this selection was influenced by the console’s user-friendliness, operational robustness, and superior audio quality.

AEQ Forum IP Split: A Versatile and Powerful Tool
The AEQ Forum IP Split, specifically chosen for ONAIR broadcast control, is renowned for its comprehensive functionalities essential in broadcasting environments. These include automatic monitor cut, cough cut, faderstart, signalling control, and external communications management. Furthermore, it facilitates intercommunication and controls signals necessary for automating external equipment.

Adaptable and Compact Design
One of the defining features of the AEQ Forum IP console is its modular construction and compact size, making it an ideal fit for various settings such as self-control rooms, control-locutory, television production controls, and sound production. It effectively balances simplicity with control power, catering to both basic and advanced operational requirements. The Forum IP Split version incorporates the FR CORE modular engine in a compact 3-rack unit form.

Advanced Connectivity Options
Flexibility in connectivity is a key aspect of the AEQ Forum IP Split. It supports AoIP multi-channel input and output cards, compatible with the AES67 protocol via DANTE technology. This allows seamless integration and signal exchange with equipment from over 300 manufacturers. Additionally, the console offers the option for MADI connectivity and can be outfitted with up to two internal digital telephone hybrids, further enhancing its versatility in broadcast operations.
