Frame.io has introduced Real-Time Logging (RTL), a new feature designed to streamline camera-to-cloud workflows.
RTL allows users to communicate their observations about captured footage in real time by pressing a button.
How RTL Works
RTL requires additional hardware and works exclusively with projects connected to Ambient NanoLockit devices. The buttons on these devices can be pre-programmed to represent specific comments, which are then sent to editors with timecode accuracy.
Usage and Benefits
This feature is particularly useful for live sports, music events, documentaries, and wildlife productions. It enables faster remote editing by allowing editors to skip unusable footage. However, it necessitates someone on set to press the buttons.
Availability
RTL is available in the current version of Frame.io, with access to Frame.io V4 coming later this year.
