Russound has announced the launch of its latest products, the AVA2.1 and AVA3.1 Mini Audio Receivers (Mini-AVRs), marking the beginning of an extensive series of product releases planned for 2024.
These devices are crafted to meet the needs of custom installation professionals, offering them a streamlined, easy-to-use solution for amplifying 2.1 and 3.1 audio systems. They come equipped with Audio Return Channel (ARC) HDMI functionality, enabling simple plug-and-play installation.
Key Features and Design
Both models feature a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier, digital inputs, and a universal power supply compatible with 100-240V 50/60Hz, ensuring global usability. Additional features include built-in Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a subwoofer output with adjustable gain, and an infrared (IR) remote control with an external receiver for easy operation. These Mini-AVRs are distinguished by their compact design, allowing for discreet placement in various locations, including behind TVs, on walls, or within furniture.
Innovation and User Experience
Charlie Porritt, CEO of Russound, highlighted the customer-centric development approach of the AVA-Series Mini-AVRs, emphasizing their simplicity and the innovative integration of ARC input. This feature permits audio and CEC control through a single HDMI connection, facilitating control with the TV’s existing remote and thereby simplifying the user experience.

The AVA2.1 and AVA3.1 are versatile, compatible with existing soundbars or speakers, and designed to fit in almost any space due to their compact size. With a dimension of 1.6″ x 5.7″ x 7.9″, these receivers are suitable for hidden installations. They deliver 50 watts per channel, offering high-quality audio performance. The receivers support multiple audio inputs, including optical and line audio, and feature a USB-C port for firmware updates, enhancing their flexibility and functionality.

At the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024 event, the Russound AVA Series Mini-AVRs were honored with the 2024 Best of Show Award by Residential Systems magazine.
