Sachtler has recently introduced its latest addition to the tripod market, the Ace Mk II series, which is now available in multiple configurations for various filmmaking needs.
The series includes the Ace XL Mk II, offered either as a standalone head or within a comprehensive system, and the Ace M Mk II, which is only available as part of a system. These tripods are lightweight and feature three 3/8” mounting points on the bowl, accommodating the included carry handle among other accessories. Additionally, the Ace Mk II heads are designed to be compatible with Sachtler’s flowtech75 legs.

The Ace XL Mark II Fluid Head, designed for smooth pan and tilt movements, supports a load capacity of up to 17.6 pounds (7.98 kg) and is compatible with tripods that have a 75mm bowl mount. It introduces an additional step of counterbalance, now offering 9 + 0 steps, along with 3 + 0 steps for pan/tilt drag adjustment, and a tilt range from +90° to -75°. The head includes a slide-in plate for camera mounting, featuring a 1/4″-20 screw and locating pin, and boasts a sliding range of 4.1 inches to accommodate various rig configurations. Additional enhancements include a detachable pan bar and an illuminated bubble level, with the option to mount the Ace XL Mark II onto a slider thanks to its integrated flat base.
