SHIMBOL has officially announced the TP Mini, which is positioned as the most affordable HDMI wireless transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) system on the market.

First Appearance and Key Features

The TP Mini was first showcased at NAB a few months ago. Key features of the TP Mini include:

  • A transmitter and receiver set
  • Transmission of up to 1080p60 video
  • A transmission range of up to 500 feet line of sight
  • HDMI input and outputs
  • L-series battery plate on each unit
  • OLED display and USB-C power input

Design and Specifications

The TP Mini 500’ HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System is targeted at users of mirrorless hybrid cameras and small digital cinema cameras. The transmitter (TX) has an HDMI input and can transmit signals up to 600 feet line of sight to the receiver (RX) using the 5 GHz wireless band. The TX also includes an HDMI loop-through output. The receiver features two HDMI outputs for monitor viewing or sending the feed to a switcher.

The units are built with an aviation aluminum alloy shell and sandblasted paintwork, inspired by the palaces of ancient China. Each unit weighs 113g (3.98 oz).

Display and Power

An OLED display on the side of each unit shows the status of the wireless signal. SHIMBOL states that the latency is as low as 70ms. Each unit can be powered using an L-series battery or a separately available power source through the 5V USB-C input. The built-in antennas make the units compact and easy to install and transport. The system operates silently as there are no fans in the RX or TX units.

Price and Availability

The SHIMBOL TP Mini is now available to order at a price of $89 USD.
