Pomfort, Silverstack Lab 8.8: ProRes RAW and Canon EOS C400 Compatibility

    Pomfort, a German company specializing in software for film productions, has launched Silverstack Lab 8.8.

    This update includes new features such as ProRes RAW support, along with compatibility for Canon EOS C400 footage and the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF, among others.

    Silverstack Lab has been utilized in films like “The Watchers,” “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning,” and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”

    Silverstack Lab 8.8 Overview

    Silverstack Lab is designed for set-to-post data management and daily creation tasks in film production. It is used by camera departments, post-production facilities, and near-set scenarios. The core feature is the clip library, where media files are registered, and metadata is collected, structured, and tracked.

    New Features in Silverstack Lab 8.8

    Format Support

    • ProRes RAW: Now supports ProRes RAW footage, allowing debayering into various log spaces, including HLG / Rec. 2020, S-Log3 (Cine), and D-Log.
    • Canon EOS C400: Added support for footage from the upcoming Canon EOS C400 camera, including new XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S codecs.
    • RED V-Raptor [X]: Support for clips shot with extended highlights.
    • Blackmagic RAW: Added support for Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF footage.
    Look and Color Pipeline
    • ACES Custom IDT: Offers more flexible pipelines by using CLF files (custom LUT format) for custom input device transforms.
    Offload
    • ASC MHL: Includes support for ignore patterns and the insertion of user contact information in ASC MHL hash manifests.
    Pricing and Availability

    A trial version of Silverstack Lab is available for download. Pomfort offers various licensing models to suit different user needs. The yearly subscription costs €1,199, which includes unlimited access to all features and updates within the subscription period. Temporary licenses are also available for shorter projects:

    • 14 days for €169
    • 1 month for €279
    • 2 months for €449
