OM Digital Solutions has announced that SIRUI is joining the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system standard group.
SIRUI plans to support this standard with the release of their new lenses. Currently, 61 companies, including those focused on B2B operations, support the MFT system.
Debate on MFT System’s Sustainability
In recent years, there has been considerable discussion about the future sustainability of the Micro Four Thirds system. This debate arises from the growing market of full-frame cameras, which have seen price reductions to the extent that some MFT cameras are now more expensive than certain full-frame models. Additionally, the size difference between MFT and full-frame cameras has diminished with the introduction of smaller full-frame models.
History and Future of MFT System
The Micro Four Thirds system was established in 2008 by Olympus and Panasonic. With SIRUI joining the system, new products, including optical lenses, will be added to the MFT lineup. This collaboration aims to provide products that support shooting for filmmakers. The open standard will continue to expand the possibilities and enjoyment of imaging.
