SIRUI, a renowned Chinese lens producer, has recently unveiled the Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lens, expanding their Venus series of 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lenses which already includes the 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm lenses.

It’s impressive how SIRUI consistently announces new lenses. Their latest offering is the Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lens. Just last month, we covered their new Nightwalker lens series, and now we have this new addition.

Key Features of the SIRUI Venus 150mm Anamorphic Lens:

  • Minimum focus distance of 0.58m, allowing for closer shots without lens adapters.
  • When used in 3:2 mode, it provides a 2.4:1 aspect ratio, and in 16:9 mode, a 2.8:1 ratio.
  • Although some monitor manufacturers support a 1.6x de-squeeze ratio, it’s less common in cameras. A potential workaround is SIRUI’s 1.25x anamorphic adapter for a 2x squeeze.

Consistency is a hallmark of the Venus lens series. They all feature matched color tones, blue lens flares, oval bokeh, and more. They also have the same gear positions and a standard 82mm front filter thread.

The Venus 150mm lens is available in various mounts, including Sony E, Canon/RED RF, Nikon Z, and LEICA/Panasonic/SIGMA L-mount. The lens measures approximately 178mm in length and weighs around 1385g.
