Skyline Communications, a leading provider of end-to-end digital transformation solutions for the ICT media and broadband industry, has announced a new agreement with TelevisaUnivision.
This partnership aims to provide comprehensive service-based monitoring and control for TelevisaUnivision’s new IP-based distribution system, designed to replace their conventional C-Band infrastructure. This move aligns with TelevisaUnivision’s digital transformation strategy and vision, aiming for a more unified, data-centric operation.
DataMiner System Implementation
Skyline’s DataMiner System will be at the core of this transformation. The system will monitor and control the cloud-based compression and encryption infrastructure, manage extensive third-party IP distribution including SRT international distribution, and handle IRD automated authorization according to program access rules. Additionally, DataMiner will monitor remote stations’ decoders. This system provides an end-to-end view and secure control for each service, enabling operators to evaluate and isolate system issues more efficiently.
Statements from TelevisaUnivision
Bill Moran, VP of Distribution Technologies at TelevisaUnivision, highlighted the importance of leveraging advanced technologies for seamless and efficient operations in the era of digital content delivery. He noted that Skyline’s DataMiner was chosen for its ability to optimize compression and distribution workflows, reduce costs, and ensure exceptional viewer experiences.
Skyline Communications’ Perspective
Roger Bijos, General Manager Americas at Skyline, expressed delight in partnering with TelevisaUnivision. He emphasized that DataMiner empowers media companies to make data-driven decisions, optimize performance, and deliver superior content experiences. Bijos pointed out that DataMiner goes beyond traditional solutions, offering nearly unlimited opportunities for continuous innovation and evolution in virtualized technology ecosystems. This includes reducing costs, optimizing resource utilization, streamlining workflows, reducing carbon footprints, and perfecting service quality.
Skyline Communications’ collaboration with TelevisaUnivision marks a significant step in the latter’s journey towards digital transformation, utilizing advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and viewer satisfaction.
