SmallRig has introduced its new RT25 Handheld Tube Light with Battery Handle Grip, designed for various shooting needs including events, weddings, self-produced media, interviews, documentaries, music videos, and live streaming.
The RT25 is aimed at content creators and vloggers, offering an output of 633 Lux at 3.3′ (5600K, RGB), with a color temperature range of 2500-10,000K CCT and RGB mode. It features onboard controls with an OLED screen, a CRI of 96, and a TLCI of 98. The light also includes 18 preset special effects, various mounting options (3/8″-16, 1/4″-20, NATO, and ARRI mounts), barndoors, and a carrying case.
Battery and Power
The battery handle grip has a quick-release design that integrates with the tube light. It includes a built-in 45Wh battery, providing up to 2 hours of continuous full-power usage on a single charge. The device also has a USB-C port for PD fast charging or powering the light from a battery.
Design and Build
The RT25 measures 42cm / 16.54″ when compacted and weighs 900g / 1.98 lb. SmallRig claims it is 75% lighter than comparable products. It is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy and robust materials, with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. The light is passively cooled, meaning it operates silently without a fan.
Mounting and Control Options
Users can mount the light via a 1/4-20″ thread, 3/8″ thread, or a built-in NATO rail. It can be controlled onboard or via an app for added convenience.
