SMPTE has announced the start of early registration for the 2024 Media Technology Summit.

This annual conference will be held from October 21-24 at the Ovation Hollywood in Hollywood, California. The event is designed to bring together industry leaders from around the world to share research, address industry challenges, and provide networking opportunities.

Event Overview

The 2024 Media Technology Summit is expected to be a significant event in the media technology sector. Marc Zorn, SMPTE Hollywood Chair and Conference Co-Chair, stated that this year’s summit aims to surpass previous years in scale and impact. Instead of the traditional keynote address, the summit will feature sessions with key filmmakers who will discuss the role of technology and SMPTE in their work. According to Zorn, this conference has historically set industry standards and serves as a vital platform for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation, and building professional networks.

Registration Details

Early bird pricing for the summit is available from June 10 to July 31. After this period, regular pricing will apply. Attendees can look forward to peer-reviewed technical sessions, invited presentations, and panels on current industry issues. The summit will also feature a Solutions Hub and new additions such as the Tech Trek.

Tech Trek and Off-Site Experiences

The Tech Trek is a new feature offering guided, interactive exhibit tours that showcase technologies discussed in the sessions. This allows participants to experience technology firsthand and meet the leaders behind these innovations. Additionally, off-site experiences are scheduled for October 24 for those interested in participating.

A Place for Learning and Networking

Zandra Clarke, SMPTE Director of Membership and MTS Co-Chair, emphasized that the 2024 Media Technology Summit will cater to a wide range of interests. Whether attendees aim to learn, network, or advance their careers, the summit provides the necessary tools and opportunities for success. Clarke highlighted that SMPTE offers valuable resources for industry professionals, and it is up to the attendees to make the most of them.
