Hitomi Broadcast has officially launched SMPTE ST 2110 compatibility for its MatchBox solution, with live demonstrations scheduled at IBC2024.

This update allows MatchBox to integrate into IP-based broadcast environments while retaining its core lip-sync and latency measurement functions.

Expansion into IP Broadcast Solutions

With the increasing shift towards IP solutions in the broadcast industry, Hitomi has enhanced the MatchBox product line to support SMPTE ST 2110 systems. This development enables MatchBox users to continue utilizing its features with the new IP interface, alongside the existing SDI support. The IP interface option is also now available on Hitomi’s IdentBox product.

Seamless Transition to IP Workflows

Existing MatchBox users can upgrade their hardware to support ST 2110 by adding the interface to spare slots in their xFrame. The xFrame accommodates up to four MatchBox modules, allowing for simultaneous use of both SDI and ST 2110 interfaces. This setup facilitates the measurement of latency differences between the two formats, aiding in the transition to IP workflows while maintaining SDI compatibility.

Live Demonstrations at IBC2024

At IBC2024, Hitomi will demonstrate its full range of solutions, including the MatchBox Glass app and a preview of an upcoming software analyzer designed for high channel count productions. A live demonstration will replicate a hybrid SDI/SMPTE ST 2110 production setup, showcasing the updated MatchBox technology’s ability to measure latency differences between the two workflows.
