At IBC 2024, Sonnet Technologies will introduce its next-generation eGPU Breakaway Box, featuring a Thunderbolt 5 controller.

This new eGPU solution doubles the PCIe bandwidth compared to existing Thunderbolt 3 external GPU chassis, providing PC workstation-level graphics performance for Thunderbolt 5 laptops and compact computers.

Echo 12 Thunderbolt 5 SSD Dock Preview

Sonnet Technologies will also offer a preview of its first next-generation Thunderbolt docking station, the Echo 12 Thunderbolt 5 SSD Dock. This docking station includes four Thunderbolt ports, four USB Type A ports, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45) port, a 3.5 mm combo audio port, and an SD 4.0 card slot. It features an internal x4 PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD socket, capable of data transfers up to 6,500 MBs from a Gen4 SSD when connected to Thunderbolt 5-enabled computers.

Dual Thunderbolt Interface to PCIe Card Expansion Systems for Pro Digital Video Market

Sonnet will showcase its Echo II DV Desktop and Echo II DV Rackmount systems, designed for professional digital video workflows. These Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion systems allow users to connect two high-performance PCIe cards, such as DV I/O, NVMe SSD storage, and 10Gb and 25Gb Ethernet adapters, with up to 2,880 MB/s PCIe bandwidth for each card. Each card slot has a separate Thunderbolt interface, ensuring full PCIe bandwidth when connected to two Thunderbolt ports on compatible computers, including Apple silicon Mac computers, select pro Thunderbolt 4 PCs, and certain Intel Mac, Windows, and Linux systems.

xMac Studio/Echo II DV Rackmount System for Mac Studio Computers

Sonnet will also present the xMac Studio/Echo II DV professional rackmount system designed for Apple Mac Studio computers. The system fits standard 19-inch racks and provides access to the computer’s ports and SD card slots. It includes space beneath the computer for SSD storage and secures them with adhesive-backed magnets. The xMac Studio securely houses a Mac Studio and an Echo II DV Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion module, which adds two PCIe card slots to the computer. Each slot offers up to 2,880 MB/s PCIe bandwidth when connected to two independent Thunderbolt ports.

Affordable 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) Networking Solutions

Sonnet Technologies will feature its cost-effective 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) networking solutions at IBC 2024. These include the Twin25G dual-port 25GbE Thunderbolt adapter for Thunderbolt-enabled computers and the Twin25G PCIe Card dual-port 25GbE PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 adapter card. Both products come with SFP28 transceivers and are compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux systems, providing easy connectivity to high-speed networks and storage systems using the 25GbE standard.
