Sonnet Debuts Thunderbolt 5 eGPU and Connectivity Tech at 2024 NAB Show

Sonnet Technologies is set to unveil its latest external GPU (eGPU) enclosure, the Breakaway™ Box, featuring Thunderbolt™ 5 technology, during the 2024 NAB Show.

This new product aims to significantly enhance graphics performance for laptops and small computers by offering double the PCIe® bandwidth compared to existing external GPU chassis on the market.

Introducing the Echo™ 20: A Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock with Unmatched Connectivity

Also at the NAB Show, Sonnet will present the Echo™ 20 Thunderbolt™ 4 SuperDock. This device, which stands at the pinnacle of Sonnet’s Echo docking station line, provides a record-setting number of connection options. It includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an internal M.2 NVMe SSD socket, twelve USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, a 3.5 mm combo audio port, two line-level output jacks, a microphone jack, and an SD™ 4.0 card slot. The Echo 20 SuperDock serves as a central hub for connecting a wide array of peripherals through a single Thunderbolt cable, which also delivers up to 100 watts of power to charge laptops. It is compatible with a wide range of devices including Apple® M series and Intel® Mac computers, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4® Windows® and Chromebook computers, and M series iPad Pro® tablets.

Sonnet to Showcase 25GbE Networking Solutions for Mac and PC

Sonnet will also highlight its 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) networking products, designed for affordability and high performance. These include the Twin25G™ dual-port 25GbE Thunderbolt™ adapter and the Twin25G PCIe® Card dual-port 25GbE PCI Express® (PCIe) 3.0 adapter card. Both products are designed to connect computers easily to high-speed network infrastructures and storage systems using 25GbE standard and are compatible with macOS®, Windows®, and Linux®.

Dual Thunderbolt™ Interface to PCIe® Card Expansion Systems Launch

New to the market, Sonnet introduces its Echo™ II DV Desktop and Echo II DV Rackmount systems, specifically designed for the professional digital video market. These Thunderbolt™ to PCIe® card expansion systems allow for the use of two high-performance PCIe cards simultaneously, supporting up to 2,880 MB/s PCIe bandwidth for each card. Ideal for DV I/O, NVMe SSD storage, and 10Gb and 25Gb Ethernet adapters, these systems ensure optimal performance when connected to computers with independent PCIe bandwidth for Thunderbolt ports.

Sonnet Reveals Professional Rackmount Solution for Mac Studio®

The 2024 NAB Show will also see the debut of the xMac™ Studio/Echo™ II DV professional rackmount and Thunderbolt™ to PCIe® card expansion system designed for Apple® Mac Studio® computers. The system allows for secure installation in standard 19-inch equipment racks, provides easy access to the computer’s ports, and includes space for additional SSD storage. The Echo II DV Module, part of the system, adds two PCIe card slots to the Mac Studio, ensuring full bandwidth for high-performance cards when connected to the computer’s Thunderbolt ports.

Additional Product Line Updates

Sonnet will display other recent additions to its product lines, including a silent-operating PCIe® 4.0 adapter card that accommodates eight NVMe SSD slots, and two new USB host adapter cards, further expanding its portfolio of high-performance computing solutions.
