Sony’s much-anticipated BURANO camera will not be available as soon as expected. The delay, reportedly about a month, is due to technical and calibration problems.

This information comes from Alister Chapman, a recognized Sony Ambassador, who shared the details in the Sony BURANO Facebook User Group.
Technical Recall
According to Chapman, the delay is attributed to technical reasons that necessitate a recall of the cameras. This unexpected hiccup has pushed back the initial shipping date in Japan, which was scheduled for Friday, February 9th.
Manufacturer’s Response Awaited
Efforts to obtain an official statement from Sony about the delay and its reasons are underway. Updates will be shared as soon as a response from Sony is received.
Support from Blackmagic Design
In related news, Blackmagic Design has announced the release of DaVinci Resolve 18.6.5, an update that includes support for the BURANO’s X-OCN format, despite the camera’s shipping delay.
