Sony’s Advanced Cameras Used in Coppa Italia Final

For the third consecutive year, Lega Serie A partnered with Sony to explore innovative applications of shooting technology during the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa final.

This collaboration has developed into a robust partnership focused on enhancing the quality of sports content through new filming techniques.

Advanced Filming Techniques

This year’s final involved an extensive filming operation using Sony’s cinematography techniques and equipment to capture the match’s drama and emotions with unprecedented detail. Key technologies used included:

  • Sony VENICE 2 LIVE Configuration Camera: This camera provided a cinematic look to the images, emphasizing depth of field and color details, especially from behind the goal posts.
  • BURANO Camera: Positioned at the field’s edge on a Gimbal, this camera captured close-up shots of players’ emotions and the pitch’s depth, utilizing its built-in image stabilizer and autofocus technologies.
  • FR7 Camera: Sony’s full-frame, interchangeable lens PTZ camera captured the drama and emotions in the player’s tunnel.
