Sony’s Ci Media Cloud has introduced a new Business Plan, specifically designed to cater to the needs of small and medium-sized post-production houses.
Priced at $249 per month, this plan bridges the gap between Sony’s existing Free, Pro, and Team plans, and the more comprehensive Enterprise options. The Business Plan offers unlimited Workspaces, 1TB of active storage, 4TB of archival storage, and 500GB of monthly data transfers. It also includes advanced features like custom branding and usage analytics, previously reserved for enterprise-level subscribers.
Ci Transfer App: Streamlining File Transfers
Sony has also launched Ci Transfer, a new desktop application available for both Mac and PC users. This app facilitates high-speed file transfers to and from the Ci Media Cloud platform. It boasts features like multi-gig speed transfers, automatic retry after interruptions, and the ability to handle large volumes of files efficiently. The app includes functionalities such as pause and resume for transfers, transfer reports, and prioritization of urgent files. Additionally, Ci Transfer ensures the integrity of transferred files through detailed transfer logs.
Sidecar Ingest Workflow for Enterprise Customers
A novel sidecar ingest workflow complements the Ci Transfer app, targeting enterprise-level customers. This feature allows for seamless migration of media libraries without losing associated sidecar metadata. By uploading JSON files alongside media files, Ci Media Cloud automatically links the metadata with the corresponding media files.
Enhanced Support for Dolby Atmos Audio Files
Sony’s Ci Media Cloud now offers enhanced support for Dolby Atmos audio files. This integration with Dolby.io allows for the handling of ADM (Audio Definition Model) BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) Atmos audio. Users can now upload and play Dolby Atmos audio files within the Ci platform, choosing between binaural or stereo audio proxies. Additionally, the platform provides tools for visualizing Loudness Unit Full Scale (LUFS) and True Peak levels, enabling creative and quality assurance teams to work with immersive audio content as intended.
