The NFL and Sony will develop a new headset designed for coach-to-coach communication on the field. This headset will be powered by Verizon Business’ Managed Private Wireless Solution, utilizing Verizon’s 5G network for reliable performance.

Sony’s Hawk-Eye tracking services will be used to improve the accuracy of critical game elements, such as line-to-gain measurements. Additionally, Sony’s Beyond Sports will leverage its expertise in real-time visualization to engage the next generation of NFL fans.

Gary Brantley, the NFL’s Chief Information Officer, emphasized the importance of this partnership in advancing the NFL’s technology ecosystem. Since 2020, Sony has been the exclusive imaging products provider for The Associated Press (AP), which covers all NFL imagery. Sony’s cameras have been used extensively by NFL broadcast partners, including CBS Sports, ESPN, FOX Sports, and NBC Sports, for decades.
