Sony has developed a new plugin that integrates with the VENICE, VENICE 2 cameras, and Crystal LED displays, offering filmmakers the ability to precisely replicate these devices’ settings.
This technology facilitates meticulous shot planning prior to the actual production phase, ensuring a seamless transition when the production team arrives on set.
Virtual Production Tool Set: Elevating In-Camera VFX Quality
The Virtual Production Tool Set, designed by Sony, addresses existing challenges in virtual production and enhances the quality of In-Camera VFX. With the Camera and Display Plugin for Unreal Engine, users can fine-tune their visual requirements using Sony’s VENICE cameras within a virtual environment. This set includes a Virtual VENICE for Unreal Engine, where users can save their customized settings.
Innovative Features for Pre-Visualisation and Color Accuracy
One of the standout features of this tool set is the Moiré Alert feature, which is crucial for both pre-visualisation and on-set shooting. This functionality is capable of identifying moiré patterns, which are typically invisible to the human eye, thereby preventing potential visual issues in the final production. Additionally, the Color Calibrator tool guarantees that the colors envisioned during the planning stages will accurately match those seen in the daily footage, ensuring consistency and visual fidelity throughout the production process.
