Spicy Mango and FX Digital Partner for Enhanced Connected TV Sports Data

Spicy Mango collaborates with FX Digital to integrate sports data into connected TV experiences, debuting their showcase at the SportsPro show in Madrid.

Spicy Mango, a leader in technology services and solutions, and FX Digital, a top developer of Connected TV solutions, have partnered to create a groundbreaking connected TV showcase powered by Gameday. This innovative presentation, set to debut at this year’s SportsPro show in Madrid, builds on their successful collaboration in bringing Dyn Sport to market in 2023.

The partnership aims to revolutionize the viewer experience by integrating engaging data overlays directly into sports broadcasts on Connected TV devices. This approach enhances sports fan engagement by providing in-depth match data and key moments without the need for second-screen applications.

The collaboration draws upon Spicy Mango’s expertise in sports data management, driven by Gameday, and FX Digital’s skill in developing immersive connected TV apps. The proof of concept, supported by Dyn Sport, enables viewers to transition seamlessly from live viewing to replaying key game moments, accompanied by relevant data such as player or team profiles.

Matt Duhig, MD of FX Digital, said, “In a world in which the sports fan experience is everything, making the big screen more immersive is no easy feat technically or in terms of user experience. Our partnership with Spicy Mango’s Gameday platform not only tackles these challenges head-on but sets a whole new standard for fan engagement on Connected TV devices.“

Chris Wood

Chris Wood, CTO of Spicy Mango, said, “When it comes to building second screen applications for Connected TVs, data is always thrown away in favour of rinse and repeat carousels with full screen vanilla video – we thought it was about time that changed. We wanted to really show the market what we could do with data to complement the Connected TV viewing, without becoming overwhelming for the fan. We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to achieve.”
