Studio Technologies, a leader in producing high-quality audio, video, and fiber-optic solutions, has recently announced the launch of its latest announcer’s consoles: the Model 214A, Model 215A, and Model 216A.
These new devices are engineered to act as the central hub for audio control for announcers, commentators, and production teams. They bring improved functionality and performance while ensuring compatibility with the esteemed Model 214, 215, and 216 consoles. The latest models promise exceptional audio quality, increased reliability, and customizable features through the STcontroller software.
Key Features and Applications
The Model 214A, 215A, and 216A consoles are ideal for a variety of settings, including live television sports broadcasts, stadium announcements, and corporate audiovisual (AV) tasks. Each unit is designed to integrate seamlessly with Dante® audio-over-Ethernet technology-based broadcast and audio systems. Requiring only an Ethernet connection with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for setup, these consoles simplify creating a sophisticated networked audio system. Users need only to connect a microphone and headphones (or a broadcast headset) to complete the installation. The consoles maintain high-quality audio for on-air broadcasts, talkback, and headphone cue feeds.
A Word from Studio Technologies’ President
Gordon Kapes, President of Studio Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the STcontroller software’s role in offering a wide range of configuration options. This software makes it simple for users to select operational parameters, providing an intuitive interface with straightforward controls and indicators. Kapes emphasized the commitment to maintaining superior audio performance suitable for any event.
Advanced Control and Configuration
The new announcer’s consoles feature pushbutton switches—with two on the Model 214A, three on the Model 215A, and four on the Model 216A—for controlling main and talkback audio outputs. These switches, which come with gold-plated contacts for durability, include white LED backlighting. Each model also has three rotary controls for adjusting the two-channel headphone output. Specifically, the Model 216A offers additional capabilities as a 4-channel IFB (interrupted foldback) main station for remote production (REMI) applications, consolidating all necessary audio signal routing in a compact design.
Software Support
STcontroller software, available at no extra cost from Studio Technologies, enables quick and easy customization of the Model 214A, 215A, and 216A consoles to meet specific needs. Compatible with both WinOS® and macOS® operating systems, this software provides users with the tools needed for optimal configuration of their audio control center.
