Studio Technologies, a renowned provider of high-quality audio, video, and fiber-optic solutions, is set to unveil a new product specifically designed for interpretation tasks, the Model 201 Interpreter’s Console.

This announcement comes in anticipation of their showcase at ISE 2024, where they will present this innovative device at Stand CS530 in Congress Square. The Model 201 is a standout unit, integrating Dante® audio-over-Ethernet technology, making it suitable for both single-language and multi-language environments. It’s designed for versatility, being applicable in local settings as well as in remote or off-site locations.

Introduction of the Model 201 Interpreter’s Console
The Model 201 is not just another interpretation device; it’s engineered with unique features and advanced functionalities that set it apart from standard interpretation equipment. It offers the ability to create two independent interpretation audio channels. This unit is particularly useful in off-site or Internet streaming applications, thanks to its functionality to mute or dim other audio content when interpretation is active.

Advanced Audio Features and Customization
For the interpreter’s ease, the Model 201 comes with a dual-channel (stereo) headphone output, customizable to meet various needs. This includes options for audio source selection, channel routing, and sidetone operation. The unit also features a range of user-friendly controls, including buttons and rotary controls, for setting up site-specific conditions.

Enhanced Control and Communication Functions
The Model 201 includes practical functions like separate buttons for ‘interpret active’ and ‘mic mute’, allowing for precise routing and control of the connected microphone. An independent talkback function enhances communication with production personnel. Additionally, there’s a ‘slow down’ function, enabling interpreters to request the speaker to reduce their pace for better interpretation quality.

Integration and Connectivity Options
While excellent as a standalone unit for single-language interpretation, the Model 201 can also be integrated into multi-language, complex setups. Utilizing Dante technology, it can work in conjunction with other Studio Technologies’ products to form an advanced voice interpretation system. The unit offers a 2-channel headphone monitor output, connecting through both 5-pin female XLR and 3.5 mm TRRS headset interfaces. Users can select their preferred audio sources and levels through the front panel’s switches and controls.

Superior Audio Quality and Easy Operation
The Model 201 boasts exceptional audio quality, characterized by low distortion, low noise, and high headroom. It operates simply with a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) connection and a compatible headset. The unit supports both professional and gaming headsets, offering versatility in connection types.

Compact and Durable Design
Designed for table-top use, the Model 201 is housed in a compact, rugged steel enclosure, perfect for space-constrained settings.

Convenient Configuration Software
The unit can be configured using the STcontroller software, available for both Windows and macOS. This free application from Studio Technologies allows quick and easy customization of the unit’s functions to suit specific needs.

Studio Technologies at ISE 2024
In addition to the Model 201, Studio Technologies will display a range of their solutions at ISE 2024, including Dante leader clocks, bridges, intercom engines, announcer consoles, and beltpacks, further showcasing their commitment to providing tailored solutions for the AV industry.
