TKT1957 in IBC 2023: Interview with Suzana Brady, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing at Cobalt Digital.

  • What are the main trends of IBC 2023, in your opinion?

In my view, the overarching trend is that everyone is aiming to achieve more with fewer resources.

  • What are the main directions of development most characteristic in your segment of the industry?

Cobalt is focusing on software-defined products. We begin with products that have a basic set of features, and users have the flexibility to expand and add more functionalities as needed.

  • What new products is your company showcasing at IBC 2023?

At IBC, we’re introducing the UltraBlue IP-MV, our latest IP multiviewer. Unlike our earlier card-based multiviewers, this one is driven entirely by software. This allows it to support a vast range of both compressed and uncompressed IP inputs, including protocols like RIST, SRT, and RTMP, to name a few. It also supports an unlimited number of outputs and can process audio and video over IP. Customers can purchase it as a software package, pre-installed on a server, or opt for the cloud-based version with web RTC outputs.

Additionally, we’re unveiling our Wave routers in both 64×64 and 32×32 configurations that are cloud-compatible. These routers can handle various audio routing types, including ASI and MADI, all packed into a compact, high-density unit that offers great value for its capabilities.

We’re also rolling out the Wave control panel series, designed primarily for the Wave routers. However, its customizable API means it can be adapted for other products as well.

Lastly, we’re launching a new decoder capable of supporting up to four HD channels or a single 4K channel. As always, it maintains the high-end broadcast qualities Cobalt is known for, while also being versatile enough for streaming applications.

  • Are there any developments in integrating AI into your solutions?

We haven’t ventured into that area yet.
