Teamgroup T-Create CinemaPr Series: New External SSD for Filmmakers

Teamgroup’s sub-brand, T-Create, has launched a new product line called the CinemaPr series, targeting filmmakers.

The flagship product is an external SSD, specifically designed to attach directly to cameras.

Design and Features

This SSD features 12 1/4-inch screw holes, making it easily mountable on camera cages. This innovative design has earned it the Red Dot 2024 award. It is particularly useful for users of Blackmagic Design cameras and the new Apple iPhone 15 Pro, which increasingly rely on external rather than internal media storage.

The SSD also includes a locking connector, enabling it to be securely attached to a camera in either vertical or horizontal orientations. It is available in two colors: black and titanium.

Technical Specifications

The T-Create CinemaPr P31 Portable External SSD offers storage capacities up to 4TB and utilizes a USB-C interface that allows for data transfer speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s. This storage capacity is sufficient for approximately 960 minutes of 4K60fps video. The drive is designed to handle large video files, including RAW formats.

The inclusion of patented graphene cooling technology in the drive addresses the issue of thermal-induced performance throttling, which is common in smaller drives during sustained data transfers. This feature is critical for filmmakers who require continuous high-speed data offloads.

Market Commitment and Unveiling

Teamgroup showcased their commitment to the video production market with the introduction of the CinemaPr lineup through an engaging video. However, details regarding the pricing and availability of the new SSD have not yet been disclosed.
