Telos Alliance, a renowned leader in broadcast audio for over 30 years, has unveiled two new products for its Quasar AoIP mixing console range. Additionally, a significant software update for Quasar Engine, Quasar XR, and SR surfaces has been released.
Quasar Engine RPS:
This new offering enhances the Quasar Engine platform by shifting many surface-managed features to the engine. Utilizing the Quasar Soft UI and Quasar Cast, it creates a standalone mixer, eliminating the need for a physical surface. It’s perfect for smaller studios, backup facilities, or as an affordable backup to the primary hardware console. Current Quasar Engines can be upgraded with the RPS Upgrade Kit.
Quasar SmartKey Module:
A 2-channel-wide surface module designed for Quasar XR and SR control surfaces. Any function from Axia Pathfinder Core PRO can be linked to any SmartKey, offering vast customization. Modules come in 6, 12, 18, or 24-button layouts, with up to three 6, 12, or 18-button modules being interconnected. They can be ordered with new Quasar consoles or added to existing setups.
Quasar V3.0 Engine and Surface Software Update:
This update brings significant enhancements to the XR and SR consoles. It offers full AES67 compliance to all engine sections and introduces PTP synchronization. Enhanced DSP processing has been added to various buses, and each input channel now has a dedicated peak limiter. Users also get more flexibility with variable position Insert Sends and Returns. VMIX instances have been improved with phase and pan controls for each input.

The V3.0 update will be complimentary for existing Quasar XR and SR users, available from mid-October 2023.
