Teradek’s Ace 750: wireless, zero-delay

Teradek: Ace 750 Wireless System

Teradek has launched the Ace 750, a new wireless video system designed to provide HDMI camera users with zero-delay video transmission at an affordable price.

Greg Smokler, the VP of cine products at Creative Solutions, highlighted that the Ace 750 aims to make advanced 6GHz zero-delay wireless video technology accessible to professionals at the early stages of their careers. This system features the proprietary Teradek BB3 chip, which delivers latency of less than one millisecond—significantly faster than traditional wifi-based systems and compatible with all Bolt 4K and Bolt 6 products.

System Specifications and Compatibility

The Ace 750 system is compact and lightweight, equipped with built-in antennas and designed for use with various types of cameras such as mirrorless models, camcorders, and action cameras, as well as in audio/video workflows. It supports the transmission of uncompressed 4Kp30, HDR video and audio up to a distance of 750 feet (approximately 230 meters). It operates in both 5GHz and 6GHz modes and adheres to FCC and CE regulations regarding frequency usage and power output. The device also features integrated mounting options and can be powered by either NP-F or LP-E6 batteries with an additional L-shaped plate.

Advanced Features for Enhanced Performance

Both the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) of the Ace 750 automatically select the RF channel (either 5GHz or 6GHz) that is least crowded, using Auto-Frequency Switching to maintain the best signal quality. Pre-paired out of the box, the transmitter can simultaneously send video to up to six receiver units. The system is managed through the Bolt Manager app, available for both iOS and Android devices.

Comments from Teradek’s Management

Colin McDonald, Cine Product Manager at Teradek, stated that the Ace 750 is built on the reliable wireless technology of the acclaimed Bolt line. This new product offers a lightweight and streamlined user experience at a price point that is accessible for individual operators and video professionals. As their careers grow, users have the option to seamlessly upgrade to the more expansive Bolt ecosystem, thus enhancing their operational capacity and flexibility.
