Teradek has introduced its new product, the CTRL.5, a fully featured and customizable FIZ controller.
This new device’s operating system is inspired by SmallHD’s PageOS software.
Key Features
The CTRL.5 boasts an RF range of up to 5,000 feet line of sight and features the same display as SmallHD 5” Monitors. The controller operates on CTRL.OS, which allows users to access real-time data from multiple on-set devices through a 2000nit panel.
User Interface and Controls
The CTRL.5 includes 11 programmable quick-action user buttons and a touchscreen user interface, enabling personal and flexible setups. The camera control in CTRL.OS builds on integrations from SmallHD and Teradek with brands like RED, ARRI, and Sony, with more to come. Notably, the CTRL.5 can display a live video feed using select Teradek TX units, a first for such devices.
Lens and Filter Management
Users can build and sync lens and filter kits to a cloud library within CTRL.OS.
Compatibility
The CTRL.5 is compatible with all previous Teradek RT devices, such as the Latitude MDR MK3.1, Motor MK3.1, and Handset 3.1. It can be connected to a SmallHD monitor via the 5-pin USB port on the controller. Additionally, the CTRL.5 supports the CineRT, CineTape, TOF.1, and Moon Smart Focus systems, with auto-focus capabilities using TOF.1 or third-party rangefinders.
