Dynamic Drive Pool by Ardis Technologies presents its extreme fast DDP10EF shared storage solution at IBC 2023, September 15-18.

The DDP10EF is a 1U, upt to 40GB/s shared storage for 8K DPX and all other formats. It combines the use of NVME flash memory with a fast CPU. A leap into the future is the 1U, DDP10EF with up to 6 x 100GbE ports, up to 40GB/s total bandwidth, up to 8GB/s bandwidth local bandwidth and up to 275TB raid 5 protected usable NVME SSD capacity.

The DDP10EF comes standard with dual 100GbE/QSFP28 ports, has room for two additional cards and can be filled with up to 10 NVME SSDs. Cards and NVME SSD4 and 6 packs can be ordered separately.

The DDP10EF supports NVME-oF/RDMA, iSCSI and SMB on both Linux and Windows computers and iSCSI and SMB on Mac.  Operators can share folders on the DDP10EF using the NVME-oF/RDMA, iSCSI and SMB protocol.

The 8GB/s (8K/DPX) computer performance is the result of NVME-oF/RDMA bypassing CPU’s and making a direct connection between the memory of the DDP10EF and the computer. The connection can be point to point or via an Ethernet switch supporting lossless data transport. As a rule of thumb beyond 2GB/s bandwidths NVMe-oF/RDMA should be used.

A benefit of simultaneously using iSCSI and NVME-oF/RDMA is that the DDP10EF can be part of a hybrid solution with SSDs and spindles. The DDP10EF can then be defined as cache with automatic data movements between SSDs and spindles and between spindles. Cache capacity can be between 4 and 300 TB with spindle capacity up to 5 PB. Operators “feel” extreme performance and management “feels” budget well spent.  Most importantly your sales department “feels” piece of mind because there are no format or capacity restrictions anymore.

To connect spindle arrays such as the DDP24EXR and DDP78EXR an EX card must be installed in the DDP10EF. The DDP10EF can be clustered as well to further increase bandwidth.

On display are also high availability solutions consisting of the Dual HA AVFSHead and storage arrays from Infortrend and Seagate in addition to the standalone DDP series.

The DDP’s come with a two years hardware and software warranty. Additional support can be agreed for another five years.
