Tieline Unveils Next-Generation Audio Codecs at NAB 2024

Tieline, a leader in codec manufacturing, is set to reveal its latest advancements, the Bridge-IT II and Bridge-IT XTRA II IP audio codecs, at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in 2024.

These new products aim to provide cost-effective, dependable, and high-quality solutions for various broadcasting needs, including home studios, remote broadcasts, Studio-to-Transmitter Links (STLs), Studio-to-Studio Links (SSLs), and both multi-unicasting and multicasting applications.

Enhanced Features and Networking Capabilities

Building upon the beloved features of the first-generation Bridge-IT codecs, such as an easy-to-navigate front panel, XLR analog and AES digital inputs, a comprehensive range of encoding options, and support for complex broadcasting setups, the Bridge-IT II and XTRA II introduce significant upgrades. These include compatibility with contemporary networking standards like AES67, ST2110-30, ST2022-7, Livewire, RAVENNA, and AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05. The codecs offer dual full-duplex mono or a single full-duplex stereo connection, enhanced connectivity with multiple Ethernet and Audio over IP (AoIP) ports, and versatile failover options including alternative connections, HTTP streams, or audio file playback. Additionally, they are equipped for wireless integration through cellular modems.

Management and Control Innovations

The new codecs feature comprehensive management tools, including automated failover and SNMP support for STL connections. Innovations such as SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming and Fuse-IP data aggregation further enhance reliability and performance. Compatibility with SIP for devices adhering to EBU N/ACIP Tech 3326, 3347, and 3368 standards ensures broad interoperability. The ToolBox HTML5 web-GUI and the optional Cloud Codec Controller software facilitate efficient real-time monitoring and remote management capabilities.
