Tilta Nucleus Nano II’s Latest Firmware Update Brings iPhone Support and Expanded Compatibility

The Tilta Nucleus Nano II has received a significant firmware update that introduces seamless integration with the Blackmagic iOS application. This enhancement allows users to control focus directly from their iPhone using Tilta’s follow focus system.

The upgrade signifies a step towards unifying various focus-pulling tools, making the process more streamlined across different devices.

Wi-Fi Connectivity and RED KOMODO Integration
Another key feature of this update is the introduction of Wi-Fi connectivity, particularly with the RED KOMODO camera. Currently in its public-testing phase, this feature includes capabilities like run/stop and focus control. It’s noted that for optimal operation with the KOMODO, the camera should be set in ad hoc mode. The firmware doesn’t specify compatibility with infrastructure mode, where the camera connects to an existing network. Additionally, users are advised to disconnect any other run/stop cables when using this feature.

Compatibility with DJI Devices
The firmware update also extends compatibility to DJI devices. Specifically, it enables the Nucleus Nano II handwheel to control a DJI motor. This is facilitated through an adapter provided by Tilta, which connects to the side port of the Ronin gimbal. This collaboration with DJI indicates Tilta’s commitment to broadening the usability of the Nucleus Nano II across various gimbal systems.

In summary, the Nucleus Nano II now offers enhanced functionality, including iPhone integration for focus control through the Blackmagic app, Wi-Fi control for the RED KOMODO in its testing phase, and compatibility with DJI motors, thereby expanding its utility in film and video production setups.
