Velocix, a provider of carrier-grade cloud TV software, will display its latest innovations for smarter and more efficient streaming at IBC2024.
The showcase will include its hybrid-cloud streaming portfolio that features AI technology and content steering for advanced multi-CDN delivery.
Hybrid-Cloud Streaming Platform
Velocix’s hybrid-cloud streaming platform is built on its leading CDN and Origin software. It optimizes live, VOD, and nPVR services by utilizing both cloud and on-premises storage and streaming. This setup allows video service providers to combine the scalability of cloud caches with the cost-efficiency of on-premises caches.
AI Technology for CDN Traffic Forecasting
The platform is enhanced with Velocix’s AI technology, which provides more accurate CDN traffic forecasting through the Velocix Analytics application. This technology helps video service providers prepare for organic subscriber growth and traffic spikes associated with major events.
Advanced Content Steering with CDN Broker
Velocix will also present its CDN Broker application, which improves the viewing experience with multi-CDN architectures. The application uses CMCD quality of experience data from the viewer’s media player to detect quality issues and dynamically trigger a content steering server to stream video through a higher performance CDN.
CEO’s Statement
Jim Brickmeier, CEO of Velocix, stated: “Video service providers are continuously pressured to reduce costs and enhance streaming efficiency while moving towards more flexible and energy-efficient streaming platforms. Our latest advancements in AI, hybrid-cloud streaming, and content steering technology are crucial to achieving these goals.”
