Vizrt, a leader in real-time graphics and live production solutions, has announced a significant update to its sports highlight enhancement tool, Viz Libero.

The new software release includes a feature that allows users to crop videos to various aspect ratios from a single interface. This functionality enables the creation and publication of multiple versions of a project for different platforms during live games or post-match.

Simplified Social Media Storytelling

With this cross-platform solution, Viz Libero customers can now produce shorter, more engaging clips for social media. This feature is designed to attract younger audiences who consume sports content through brief, snackable clips like replays, analysis, and highlights. According to Edouard Griveaud, Senior Product Manager at Vizrt, Viz Libero’s new feature creates content that captures the attention of Gen Z with illustrative and engaging graphics. The social media video crop tool supports customers in reaching and engaging these new audiences more effectively and efficiently.

Content Creation for Any Platform

The new feature positions Viz Libero as a 24/7 content creation tool, allowing broadcasters and sports leagues to extend their sports rights and engage audiences across linear, digital, and social platforms. With Viz Libero now fully operational and deployable in the cloud, and featuring a flexible licensing structure, customers can maximize its value across broadcast teams and seamlessly transition to digital and social teams to continue the storytelling beyond the final whistle.

Accelerated Content Production

The updated features in Viz Libero focus on enhancing the user experience. Operators can select their preferred aspect ratio, add analysis, and export clips in vertical or other common formats for various publishing platforms. This capability allows operators to quickly adjust and optimize videos for specific social media platforms, increasing fan engagement and content reach.

Griveaud adds that different social media platforms favor different formats. The new feature allows operators to create clips in specific formats, which can then be reviewed and posted by the social media team. The ability to adjust videos for specific platforms quickly enhances fan engagement and extends content reach from the stadium to social media rapidly.

Pre-configured Player Tracking

The social media crop tool in Viz Libero is also pre-configured to track players, speeding up the basic analysis process for social media. Operators can select the aspect ratio, click on a player, and the video crop tool will automatically track and crop the video accordingly.

Additional Improvements in Viz Libero 8.3

Viz Libero 8.3 includes several other enhancements, such as non-line sports calibration for sports like cricket and ice hockey, where there are few lines on the playing area to guide graphic placements. Additionally, it features native Datacenter integration to Sportec.
