Vocas has launched new accessories for Canon’s latest 6K full-frame cinema camera, the EOS C400.
These include a 2-piece top plate and a support bracket for Vocas LPL/PL to RF adapters. The EOS C400 camera body is also compatible with other existing Vocas accessories.
Canon EOS C400 Overview
The Canon Cinema EOS lineup has expanded with the new box-style EOS C400. This camera features a 6K full-frame BSI stacked CMOS sensor, internal Cinema RAW Light recording, new compressed codec options, built-in ND filters, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, and extensive connectivity. The EOS C400 is priced at $7,999 and will be available in September.
Third-Party Accessories for EOS C400
Many third-party companies, including ARRI, Wooden Camera, and Zacuto, have developed rigging accessories for the EOS C400. Vocas has also introduced new accessories specifically for this camera model.
Vocas Accessories for Canon EOS C400
Vocas has a range of accessories compatible with Canon Cinema EOS cameras such as the EOS C200, C300 Mark III, and C500 Mark II. Some of these accessories, including the Microphone Holder, Viewfinder Bracket, and LPL/PL to RF adapters, are compatible with the EOS C400. However, other parts have been redesigned to fit the new camera body.
A key new accessory is the 2-piece top cheese plate, which wraps around the camera’s original top handle. It features multiple 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threads with locating holes for mounting camera accessories and includes a bubble level for horizon checks.
Vocas also developed a support bracket for their LPL to RF and PL to RF lens mount adapters. This bracket attaches to the front of the top cheese plate, providing additional points of contact to secure the adapter.
Additionally, Vocas offers a full range of universal accessories for the EOS C400, including dovetail and baseplates, shoulder supports, handgrips, extension arms, and 15mm and 19mm rod holders.
Pricing and Availability
The new Vocas accessories for the Canon EOS C400 are available for order on the company’s website. The top cheese plate is priced at €199 (excluding VAT), and the PL and LPL adapter support costs €229 (excluding VAT). Other accessories include:
