Wisycom is set to unveil a new integrated RF Scanner for its MRK16 multi-channel receiver system at IBC 2024.

The MRK16 system, known for its capability to manage up to 16 true diversity, multi-band channels within a 19-inch 1U rack, now features a new addition that enhances its existing functionalities.

Key Features of the MRK16 System

The MRK16 receiver system can be daisy-chained up to four times, enabling it to support 64 channels of audio, making it suitable for a variety of wireless microphone system applications. It accommodates up to four MCR54 receivers, offering antenna distribution, RF filtering, and advanced audio routing. The dual-zone matrix function allows users to select and combine two diversity zones using an antenna booster and remotely control Wisycom’s LFA, ADFA, and BFA units.

Introduction of the RF Scanner

The newly integrated RF Scanner allows users to monitor RF activity and optimize frequency deployment efficiently. This feature eliminates the need to sacrifice an MCR54 receiver for monitoring purposes, enhancing the overall system functionality.

Technical Specifications

The MRK16 system operates within an ultra-wideband frequency range from 470 to 1260 MHz and is equipped with 10 automatically selected band-pass filters. The RF-over-fiber capability ensures high-quality reception without distance limitations or significant signal loss. The optional EXP3 fiber module and BFLT1 transmitter facilitate the placement of coaxial cables and antennas over long distances.

Connectivity and Power Options

The MRK16 includes multiple audio output options, including analog outputs (via dual DB25 Tascam wiring), digital outputs (AES72 and AES59), and primary and secondary Dante outputs. The system is also equipped with a redundant, dual-power supply on XLR4, dual Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and PoE output, and USB-C connectivity.

Statement from Wisycom Technical Support

According to Leslie Lello, Wisycom Technical Support, the addition of the RF Scanner makes the MRK16 a comprehensive solution for wireless microphone systems, offering enhanced RF monitoring and frequency management capabilities. The system is designed to adapt to future software updates, ensuring it remains up-to-date with the latest technological advancements.
