Witbe, a global provider of test automation and monitoring solutions for video service providers, announced that Mitchell Seaforth Cable TV (MSCTV), a Canadian telecommunications provider, has integrated Witbe’s proactive monitoring technology.
This system acts as a virtual Network Operations Center (NOC), accessible from any location, allowing MSCTV to ensure a high-quality video experience for its linear TV application users.
Ensuring Superior Video Quality
Michael Hawkes, General Manager at MSCTV, emphasized that video quality is a priority for the company. By using Witbe’s technology, MSCTV is able to maintain and improve the video quality of its pay-TV services. This technology helps validate and test content and features, ensuring they are delivered with reliable performance.
Monitoring and Control with Witbox+
MSCTV utilizes Witbe’s Witbox+ to monitor and test TiVo-branded video apps running on set-top boxes. The virtual NOC feature enables the remote management of testing devices, allowing the service provider to monitor the system from any global location.
Channel Monitoring and Alerts
Additionally, MSCTV has adopted Witbe’s Channel Change technology, which provides automated monitoring of live TV channels. The technology alerts the provider when a channel is unavailable or encounters an issue, allowing for quick resolution. All key performance indicators (KPIs) and alerts are visible in the virtual NOC, and the results are analyzed through Witbe’s Smartgate platform across different devices, regions, and software versions.
