Wohler Technologies is set to unveil two innovative 16-channel audio/video monitors, the eVAM1-1 and the eVAM1-1+, at the NAB Show 2024.
Positioned for the budget-conscious segment, these monitors emphasize baseband signal monitoring and are scheduled for shipping in June.
Feature-Rich and Budget-Friendly
Designed for cost-effectiveness, the eVAM1-1 model provides comprehensive monitoring capabilities for up to 16 channels of 3G-SDI audio and video. This is achieved within a compact 1u chassis, featuring a 2.4″ touch screen for switching between video, metering, and menu options. The eVAM1-1+ expands on this by incorporating an HDMI option card, enabling HDMI input and output in addition to the standard SDI inputs. This model allows for the seamless monitoring of both SDI and HDMI video inputs.
Enhanced Connectivity and Control
Both models are equipped with dual SDI inputs and an SDI output, alongside versatile audio connectivity that includes balanced analog inputs and outputs via XLR, additional analog inputs via RCAs, and AES inputs & outputs through BNC connectors. Users can benefit from phase monitoring, eight presets, and a headphone output, along with a web interface for remote meter and settings viewing. The touch screen and physical controls on the front panel facilitate easy access to volume, balance, and auxiliary settings, maintaining the user-friendly interface synonymous with Wohler’s products.
Integration and Management Features
In addition to the front-mounted USB port for software updates, these monitors offer a network interface for remote management. The inclusion of APIs ensures seamless integration with third-party controllers, making these monitors an ideal solution for applications requiring compact, budget-friendly, and baseband-only monitoring solutions.
Market Placement and Availability
Amol Natekar, VP Engineering at Wohler, highlights that these models are designed to meet the needs of customers not requiring IP monitoring but seeking reliable audio meter and video access. The eVAM1-1 and eVAM1-1+ are aimed at both the professional broadcast and AV markets, offering versatile solutions without the need for IP technology.
Wohler’s presence at the NAB 2024 will be in the South Hall Upper, Booth SU1051, where the company will showcase these new monitors from April 14-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
