Wooden Camera has just launched pre-orders for their Elite Accessory System, specially designed for the RED KOMODO-X camera.
Dominick Aiello, Senior Director of Accessories, shared his excitement for the KOMODO-X, stating, “This camera packs an unprecedented punch in a tiny package. So we designed a modular accessory system that allows crews to dynamically transform the compact camera body into a full-fledged cinematography system without compromising size or weight.”
ARCA Baseplate: Elevating Your Setup
This specially crafted baseplate is designed to accommodate dual 15mm rods while ensuring the ideal lens height for studio-style setups. Featuring a quick-release lever, it pairs perfectly with the ARCA Riser for lightweight configurations. The ARCA Baseplate also includes a versatile Bridge Plate Dovetail, compatible with both 15mm and 19mm Bridge Plates.
Cage System: The Foundation of Creativity
Our Cage System utilizes tie-in points on the camera body, offering essential mounting points on the rear and sides of the camera. It enhances configurability and provides a stable foundation for attaching accessories. An integrated Accessory Rail Clamp facilitates quick releases for compatible accessories like Accessory Plates or the B-Box. To complete the Cage System, you can add the Top Cheese Plate, connecting directly to the camera and enabling connectivity options like the Ultra Handle RED Riser with its 3-pin run-stop capability.
Ultra Handle System: Precision and Control
This modular system comes with a riser that allows the camera’s contacts to pass a 3-pin connector with trigger ability through the handle. It opens the door to third-party options for starting and stopping camera rolls. The Ultra Handle System also includes a ¼”-20 Support Bracket for added stability, a non-slip 4” Handle with durable Bocote hardwood inserts for comfort, and multiple handle extensions and color rings for customization.
D-Box: Power and Flexibility
The D-Box offers hot swap capabilities when power is connected to the DC-In and an on-board battery. It provides additional 12V 2-pin, D-tap, and 3-pin 24V power options. When connected to the camera’s EXT port, Run/Stop functionality is enabled on both the D-Box and the B-Box. The D-Box also features DC-In and EXT Out ports for connecting additional power sources and accessories.
Side Grips: Lightweight Versatility
These lightweight grips come equipped with cold shoe mounts at the top, allowing users to easily attach accessories such as microphones for compact shooting scenarios. The grips feature ⅜”-16 and ¼”-20 mounting points on the outside for further accessory attachment.
Greg Smokler, Vice President of Cine Products for Creative Solutions, highlighted the innovative approach taken in designing these accessories, stating, “As our Engineers started to design the basic elements that are included with every collection, the need for new products and different designs emerged.
