Yamaha DM3 Series Firmware 2.0 Update Enhances Features

 

Yamaha Corporation has announced the release of firmware version 2.0 for its DM3 series digital mixing consoles.

This update introduces new features such as an insert function and a USB Driver Mode option, enhancing the flexibility and expandability of the consoles based on customer feedback.

Overview of the DM3 Series

Launched in April 2023, the DM3 series has redefined compact mixers by offering extensive features without compromising on functionality. The series includes two models: the DM3 with Dante networking and the DM3 Standard without Dante. Both models are known for their portability and feature-rich capabilities, which are unmatched by other consoles of similar size.

New Features in Firmware 2.0
  • Insert Function: The update introduces an insert function to the input/output channels, allowing users to insert VST plug-ins via USB with the included VST Rack Elements software, or to insert external devices via USB or Dante.
  • USB Driver Mode Option: An additional USB Driver Mode (Mode 2) has been added. Mode 1 allows 18 channels to connect to a single application, while Mode 2 supports connections to up to four applications via USB to a PC or Mac.
  • Dante Domain Manager Compatibility: The DM3 series now supports Dante Domain Manager, providing expanded network flexibility.
  • Support for exFAT USB Storage: The consoles now support the exFAT USB storage format, enabling the recording of high-quality audio on external USB storage media up to 256TB. The FAT32 format will still be supported for media up to 32GB.
  • Screen and Fader Calibration: The update includes screen calibration and fader position calibration features, allowing users to adjust the screen’s color balance and enhancing the overall user experience.
