Leader Electronics of Europe has announced that its ZEN-W Series of advanced analyzers will debut in Europe at this year’s IBC, held at RAI Amsterdam from September 13-16.

Product Lineup and Features

The ZEN-W Series consists of the LV5600W waveform monitor and the LV7600W rasterizer. These next-generation analyzers include a wide range of new features and a WebRTC interface for secure remote control and monitoring via a web-connected desktop or laptop. Developed from the established LV5600 and LV7600 models, the ZEN-W Series is designed to facilitate the media industry’s transitions from SDI to IP, HD to UHD, and SDR to HDR.

Design and Compatibility

The LV5600W is a 3U high, half-rack-width unit with an integral 7-inch touchscreen display, while the LV7600W is a compact 1U unit featuring SDI and TMDS monitor outputs. The ZEN-W Series supports all T&M tools and options of the original ZEN Series, including picture, waveform, vectorscope, ancillary data display, IP traffic analysis, and JPEG-XS analysis. These products support monitoring of 4K/UHD/2K/HD/SD SDI and video-over-IP signals, making them suitable for today’s hybrid facilities.

Enhanced Capabilities

The ZEN-W Series adds new production and post-production capabilities such as Full Range standard dynamic display (SDR) of black error, CIE, gamut error, histogram, level error, audio/video timing offset, noise level, test signals, vector, and waveform. CINELITE and CINEZONE are also supported, offering features like five-bar, frame capture, and image quality adjustment. CINEZONE now includes presets for ARRI and RED camera users.

HDR/SDR Conversion and Audio Features

The new range includes bi-directional HDR/SDR conversion and the ability to import 3D color lookup tables (LUTs) via a USB memory plug-in, allowing HDR content to be viewed in SDR and vice versa. This feature simplifies live production, on-set production, and post-production workflows.

Several new audio-related features have been introduced, including an audio mapping capability that simplifies checking the level of IP audio streams. The audio level display can be flexibly configured for easy supervision, and both instruments now support multilingual closed captions in the CC608, CC708, and OP47 categories, covering most European languages.

Statement from Leadership

Martin Mulligan, COO of Leader Electronics of Europe, stated: “The original ZEN Series of analyzers has been widely adopted in broadcast and media testing environments worldwide due to its versatility and feature-rich design. With the ZEN-W Series, we have enhanced these capabilities, including a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) interface for secure remote control and monitoring. The ZEN-W Series products are invaluable T&M solutions for any media environment, and we expect them to be well-received by IBC Show visitors.”
